England

97/10(10.3 Overs)

The total of 247 is the highest T20 score at this venue with 230 being the highest successful chase at this venue. Interestingly, it was England who chased it down during the famous last-over thriller against South Africa in the 2016 T20 World Cup. While this chase is certainly challenging, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility. We could very well witness something extraordinary in the second innings, far beyond what we've seen in the first.

Earlier, after being put into bat, Sanju Samson once again fell to a short ball, continuing his struggles in the series. However, that was the only success England had in the Powerplay. Abhishek Sharma, on the other hand, took full control, sending the ball to all corners of the park and delivering a rollicking start. He reached his fifty in just 17 balls, becoming the second-fastest Indian to do so and then raced to his century in just 37 balls, setting the second-fastest T20I hundred between

A strong finish in the last couple of overs will allow England to take some momentum into the chase. Just 10 runs came off the final two overs, meaning India have fallen short of the 250 mark. When a team posts a total of 247 in a T20 match, it's rare to say they could have scored more, but in this case, it's true. From overs 9 to 16, only two overs went for double digits, and that was largely thanks to England's efforts to keep Abhishek Sharma off strike. The introduction of Brydon Carse al

Jamie Overton to Ravi Bishnoi, ! IN THE AIR AND TAKEN! This is full from Overton and the line of attack is around off, Ravi Bishnoi clears his front leg out of the way of the ball and goes airborne. Brydone Carse from deep mid-wicket runs in, locks his eyes on the ball and takes a good catch.

Ravi Bishnoi walks out to bat.

Drinks break! Well, we all need a breather, don't we? But more than anyone, England will be hoping for this break, as they have been put to the sword in the first 10 overs. Abhishek Sharma has taken them all around the park, and England seem to be running out of ideas. The highest total ever scored in T20 cricket at the Wankhede Stadium is 244, set by Madhya Pradesh against Meghalaya in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy game. That record is very much in danger today, given the blistering start we have
