The Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) will look to end their title drought during the upcoming IPL 2025 season. There have been talks regarding Virat Kohli returning as RCB captain and if it becomes reality, the fans will certainly love it. The Bengaluru based franchise acquired some exciting players including some big foreign players like Phil Salt, Josh Hazlewood and others during the mega IPL auction. Fans are very keen to know who are four overseas players who will be part of RCB's Playing XI in IPL 2025.
Here are the four overseas players who could start for RCB in IPL 2025:
1. Phil Salt
Royal Challengers Bengaluru signed the star English wicketkeeper batter Phil Salt for Rs 11.50 crore in the IPL mega auction. He will be a sure-shot starter for RCB in IPL 2025.
Salt is likely to open the innings for RCB in the IPL 2025 season, alongside Virat Kohli. It will be a new opening pair for RCB.
KKR's Loss, RCB's Gain
Phil Salt scored 435 runs at an average of 39.55 in 12 matches in IPL 2024 for Kolkata Knight Riders. However, he was not retained by KKR and RCB managed to buy Salt during the auction to strengthen their top order.
2. Liam Livingstone
England all-rounder Liam Livingstone was signed by RCB for Rs. 8.75 crore during the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction in Jeddah. He will also be a sure-shot starter for RCB in IPL 2025. Livingstone is likely to bat at No. 4 spot for RCB in the IPL 2025 season.
Quality All-Round Option
Liam Livingstone, who is known for hitting towering sixes, will also contribute with the ball for RCB in IPL 2025. Livingstone can bowl off and leg spin equally well which will be crucial for RCB during middle overs. He is also a gun fielder.
3. Josh Hazlewood
Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured Josh Hazlewood for Rs 12.5 crore during the Indian Premier League 2025 mega auction in Jeddah. Hazlewood, who is known for his ability to extract bounce and swing, would be the first-choice fast bowler for the RCB during the IPL 2025.
RCB Return For Hazlewood
Josh Hazlewood played for RCB during IPL 2022 and IPL 2023 before missing the entire 2024 season due to personal commitments. Hazlewood and Bhuvneshwar Kumar can be a lethal bowling pair for RCB with the new ball.
4. Tim David
Tim David was signed by Royal Challengers Bengaluru for Rs 3 crore at the IPL 2025 mega auction in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Monday. He will play the finisher's role for RCB in IPL 2025 after Dinesh Karthik retired from the tournament.
Tough Competition For Tim David
Tim David, who played for Mumbai Indians in the last season, will surely start for RCB in IPL 2025. However, he would have tough competition from young England cricketer Jacob Bethell, who also can hit big sixes and bowl better than David.
