Ujjwala Yojana

Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (PMUY) is a step by the Modi government to safeguard the health of women and children by providing them with a clean cooking fuel – LPG. PMUY was launched by PM Narendra Modi on May 1st, 2016 in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. Under PMUY, 5 Cr LPG connections will be provided to BPL families with a support of Rs.1600 per connection in the next 3 years. Ensuring women’s empowerment, especially in rural India, the connections will be issued in the name of women of the households.

Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana

PM Kisan is a Central Sector scheme with 100% funding from Government of India. It has become operational from 1.12.2018. Under the scheme an income support of 6,000/- per year in three equal installments will be provided to all land holding farmer families. Definition of family for the scheme is husband, wife and minor children. The fund will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

The programme will also implement source sustainability measures as mandatory elements. Swachh Bharat Mission

PM Modi launched the Swachh Bharat Mission on 2nd October 2014 to accelerate the efforts to achieve universal sanitation coverage. Under the mission, all villages, Gram Panchayats, Districts, States and Union Territories in India declared themselves "open-defecation free" (ODF) by 2 October 2019, the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, by constructing over 100 million toilets in rural India.
