Wholesale price of tur dal drops nearly 3 pc on measures taken by govt
Imposition of stock limit on all pulses except moong was notified on July 2, 2021. The free regime in respect of import of tur and urad has been extended till March 31, 2022. This policy has been supported with facilitation measures and close monitoring of its implementation by the departments/organisations concerned.

Pulses sell cheaper after drop in petrol, diesel rates, check latest prices
The prices of pulses have come down after harvest from MP and Maharashtra reached the wholesale markets. Wholesale rate of tur dal, which reached Rs 95 to Rs 100 per kg, has now come down to Rs 72 to 75 per kg. This means that tur dal price has cooled down by about Rs 12-15.

Agri Min proposes hike in tur dal import duty to 20%
Ahead of summer sowing, the Agriculture Ministry has proposed further hike in the import duty of tur dal (pigeon pea) from 10 percent to 20 percent in a bid to curb overseas purchase, arrest steep fall in wholesale prices and keep farmers' morale high.

Food Ministry favours hike in tur dal import duty to 25%
Food and Consumer Affairs Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on Monday said his ministry is in favour of increasing import duty on tur dal from 10 percent to 25 percent in the interest of farmers.

Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil on Wednesday posed an embarrassing question to the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-Shiv Sena alliance government on how 'tur dal' costs Rs 120/kg for the poor in fair price (ration) shops, but only Rs 99 in malls where the wealthy shop.
