CPL 2020: Pooran's ton helps Guyana Amazon Warriors beat Patriots by 7 wickets

Nicholas Pooran smashed the first hundred of the 2020 CPL as Guyana Amazon Warriors swept aside St Kitts & Nevis Patriots by seven wickets. Pooran notched up an unbeaten knock of 100 runs off just 45 balls to help Guyana Amazon Warriors chase down the target with 15 balls to spare. For St Kitts & Nevis Patriots, Joshua Da Silva was the highest scorer with 46-ball 59, while Dinesh Ramdin remained unbeaten at 37.

CPL 2020: Jamaica Tallawahs' Asif Ali fined for breaching code of conduct

Ali breached the code during his side's CPL tie against Guyana Amazon Warriors on August 25 at Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain. The Pakistan batsman has admitted the offence and has been fined 20% of his match fee. Tallawahs will now lock horns with Trinbago Knight Riders at Brian Lara Cricket Academy on September 1.

It was fifth consecutive win for Trinbago Knight Riders in the ongoing edition of the Caribbean Premier League. Khary Pierre finished with brilliant figures of three for 18 for Trinbago Knight Riders as Guyana Amazon Warriors posted 112/7. Darren Bravo (26) and Tim Seifert (39) helped Trinbago Knight Riders chase the target in just 18.2 overs.

Amazon Warriors create history by recording lowest successful defence in CPL

Guyana Amazon Warriors created history by recording the lowest successful defence in Hero Caribbean Premier League history on Saturday as they defeated Jamaica Tallawahs by 14 runs. After a superb batting show in the Powerplay, the Amazon Warriors lost 10 wickets for just 62 runs as spinners Mujeeb-ur-Rahman and Sandeep Lamichhane ran amok. But last year’s finalists held their nerves during fielding and succeeding in claiming bursts of 3/4 and 4/25 to win the match.
