GST Collections For August At Rs 1,59,069 Crore, 3.6% Lower Than July
The government has settled Rs 37,581 crore to CGST and Rs 31,408 crore to SGST from IGST. The total revenue of Centre and the states in August 2023 after regular settlement was Rs 65,909 crore for CGST and Rs 67,202 crore for SGST. The revenues for August 2023 are 11 per cent higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year.

Collections from Goods and Services Tax (GST) grew by 11 per cent to about Rs 1.46 lakh crore. This is the ninth month in a row that the revenues have remained above the Rs 1.4 lakh crore mark. In October, GST collections had touched the second-highest level of Rs 1.52 lakh crore on festive spending.

GST collection grew by 28 % to Rs 1.43 lakh crore in August: Finance Ministry. The gross GST revenue collected in August 2022 stood at Rs 1,43,612 crore. The revenues for the month of August 2022, registered 28 % increase than the GST revenues of Rs 1,12,020 crore collected in August 2021.

The gross GST collection has crossed the Rs 1.5 lakh crore-mark for the first time in April 2022. Of the total collection, CGST was Rs 33,159 crore. Rs 36,705 crore collected on import of goods, and cess is Rs 10,649 crore.

January is the fourth straight month when Goods and Services Tax collection has crossed Rs 1.30 lakh crore. The highest monthly GST collection has been Rs 1,39,708 crore in the month of April 2021. The revenues for the month of January 2022 are 15 per cent higher than the GST revenues in the same month last year.

The collection was lower than Rs 1.31 lakh crore mopped up in November. December is the sixth month in a row when the revenues from goods sold and services rendered stood at over Rs 1 lakh crore. GST mop-up tops Rs 1.02 lakh crore in May, 65% higher compared to 2020
Tax collections on sale of goods and rendering of services in May at Rs 1.02 lakh crore were 27 per cent lower than April 2021. During May 2021, revenues from the import of goods were 56 percent higher, and the revenues from domestic transactions (including import of services) are 69 percent higher than that of May 2020.

The revenues for the month of April 2021 are 14 percent higher than Rs 1.23 lakh crore collected in March. During the month, the revenues from domestic transactions (including import of services) are 21 percent higher over the last month. The gross GST revenue collected in the month of April 2021 is at a record high of Rs 1,41,384 crore, of which CGST is Rs 27,837 crore, SGST Rs 35,621 crore, IGST Rs 68,481 crore.

The October GST collection stood at over Rs 1.05 lakh crore. After February, the GST collection breached the Rs 1 lakh crore mark. The revenue for October this year is 10% higher than last year's collection.
