In a first, Dakota aircraft to take part in Air Force Day fly past

Dakota aircraft, which played a vital role in the 1947-48 India-Pakistan war, was restored to its original glory and inducted into the Vintage Aircraft Flight of the Indian Air Force in May this year.

Dakota joins IAF more than four decades after its fleet was phased out

The Dakota DC-3 VP 905 was formally inducted into the IAF at a grand ceremony at Hindan where a key was received by the Chief of Air Staff Air Marshal B S Dhanoa from Air Commodore (retd) M K Chandrasekhar whose son and Rajya Sabha MP Rajeev Chandrasekhar bought and restored the aircraft.
