COVID-19: 1,091 new infections take Tamil Nadu's total to 24,586

India on Tuesday recorded 8,171 cases in a day. The total coronavirus case tally of India now stands at 1.98 lakh with 5598 deaths. India on Sunday became the seventh worst-hit country in the world due to coronavirus. The number of active cases in India stood at 97,581 as per the Ministry of Health data.
