Tomato Prices To Go Down Following New Crop Arrival From Maharashtra, MP: Govt
Minister of State of Consumer Affairs Ashwini Kumar Choubey stated that prices of tomatoes are expected to come down. Minister said, "With the increase in the arrival of new crops from Maharashtra & MP, tomato's price is expected to come down". The above statement was in response to an unstarred question in the Rajya Sabha.

Hotel Association of India has clarified to the Department of Consumer Affairs that service charge paid by consumers in hotels and restaurants is optional and it is the consumers discretion whether he would like to pay the charge or not.

Customer complaints in general insurance drop by 66% in 5 yrs
The number of complaints dropped to 63,335 in 2013-14 from 1,86,615 in 2009-10, the report released jointly by Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda) and Consumer Affairs Department said.
