ATM service fee increases from today; here’s how much extra you need to pay
Banks have been permitted to charge Rs 21, instead of Rs 20 with applicable taxes. The last change in interchange fee structure for ATM transactions was in August 2012. The charges payable by customers were last revised in August 2014.

Using ATM beyond free transactions to get expensive from Jan 1
Banking customers would be required to pay Rs 21 per transaction with effect from January 1, 2022 for transactions. Presently, banks are allowed to charge Rs 20 for such transactions through ATMs. The charges have been increased to meet the increasing cost of ATM deployment and expenses.

The Delhi High Court Wednesday issued notice to the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on a plea against RBI`s decision to impose a limit of five transactions per month from the customers` own bank ATM and charging Rs.20 per transaction beyond it.
