Noida: Police guards sector 58 park on Jumma

Days after Noida police ordered private companies in Sector 58 to ensure their employees don’t offer namaz at a local park, the polcie is guarding the park as today is Jumma.On Monday, a letter written by Pankaj Rai, station house officer of the Sector 58 police station, to companies located in the sector surfaced. The letter said it was the responsibility of the companies to inform their Muslim employees not to offer namaz in the sector 58 public park, failing which they would be held “liable” for the violation.

No namaz in parks: Noida Police order to companies for employees

In a move which is likely to create controversy, Noida Police has asked companies to ensure that their employees don't offer namaz in public parks. Noida Sector 58 Police has sent notice to all the companies which are located in the industrial area asking them to adhere to the restrictions. According to the notice, the company will be held accountable, if Muslim employees offer namaz in the public. They are asked to offer Friday prayers in mosques, idgahs or inside the premises of the company.
