Indian Tennis prodigy Adil Kalyanpur to train at the Rafa Nadal academy in Spain

The coaching team lead by Toni Nadal, will help Adil with his training and competition calendar.

New Delhi: Indian youngster Adil Kalyanpur received a big boost in his fledgling tennis career as he has got an opportunity to train at Rafa Nadal academy in Spain for three years under the guidance of Toni Nadal, the coach and uncle of Spanish tennis legend.

The three-year association will begin from September 1 this year. Rafa Nadal Academy by Movistar, the high-performance tennis academy was built by the Spanish tennis star in Mallorca, his hometown, earloer this year.

The coaching team lead by Toni Nadal, will help Adil with his training and competition calendar.

"We are very happy to work with Adil. The whole team will work very hard in order to maximize his potential and opportunities. India has a growing tennis scene, they are doing great things there and we are really excited to be a part of it," Toni said.

16-year old Adil, coached by former Indian Davis Cupper Vishal Uppal, had recently enjoyed a 12-day stint at Rafa Academy and grabbed attention of Toni Nadal, who then offered him a chance to train with them.

Adil had won the Road to Wimbledon series event in 2014 and also emerged winner at the Road to Roland Garros tournament.

Adil has represented India in the Junior Davis Cup and helped the team reach the World group finals, to be held in Budapest in September 2016.

"It's a great opportunity for Adil and I am sure with he will make the most of it with sheer hard work,"
