Rishabh Pant holds the record for the fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Test cricket. He slammed a 28-ball fifty in Bengaluru against Sri Lanka in March 2022. 

Rishabh Pant holds the record for the second fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Test cricket. He slammed a 29-ball fifty at the Sydney Cricket Ground against Australia in January, 2025.  

Pant, who walked in to bat at 59/3 in the second innings, played a breathtaking knock (33 off 61), hitting four monstrous sixes and six boundaries.  

Shardul Thakur holds the record for the fourth fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Test cricket. He slammed a 31-ball fifty against England at the Oval in 2021. 

Yashasvi Jaiswal holds the record for the fifth fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Test cricket. He slammed a 31-ball fifty against Bangladesh in Kanpur in September 2024. 

Virender Sehwag holds the record for the sixth fastest fifty by an Indian batter in Test cricket. He slammed a 32-ball fifty against England in Chennai in 2008. 

Rishabh Pant is the first and only player in the world to score two fifties in under 30 deliveries -- 28 balls vs SL, Bengaluru, 2022 and 29 balls vs AUS, Sydney, 2025 -- in Test cricket.
