Mohammed Siraj For Jasprit Bumrah, Sean Abbott For Pat Cummins: Potential Replacements Of Players Who Are Set To Miss Champions Trophy 2025 - In Pics

Jasprit Bumrah was named in India's 15-member squad for the Champions Trophy 2025 with an asterisk against his name, implying his inclusion is subject to fitness. With less than two weeks left for the 2025 Champions Trophy to start, there is still no clarity on Bumrah's fitness. If Bumrah's injury assessment doesn’t yield positive results, he could potentially be ruled out of the Champions Trophy as well.

Mohammed Siraj is likely to replace him in the India squad for the ICC event. Harshit Rana is another replacement option for Bumrah but Siraj might get an edge over him because of his experience.

Australia skipper Pat Cummins has been ruled out of the 2025 Champions Trophy due to an ankle injury. Steve Smith is likely to captain Australia in Cummins' absence at the upcoming ICC event. Sean Abbott is likely to replace Cummins in the Australia squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy.  

Australia all-rounder Mitchell Marsh has also been ruled out of the 2025 Champions Trophy after suffering a back injury. Young hard-hitting batter Jake Fraser-McGurk is likely to replace Marsh in the Australia squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy.  

Australia pacer Josh Hazlewood has also been ruled out of the 2025 Champions Trophy with a hip injury. Left-arm pacer Spencer Johnson, who has been among wickets in the Big Bash League (BBL) recently, is likely to replace Hazlewood in Australia squad for the 2025 Champions Trophy.  

Australia will also miss the services of Marcus Stoinis, who has retired from ODI cricket before the  2025 Champions Trophy. Cooper Conolly is expected to replace Stoinis in the Australian squad for the ICC Champions Trophy 2025.  

Young Pakistan batter Saim Ayub has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 after being prescribed a rehabilitation period of at least 10 weeks to recover from an ankle injury. Khushdil Shah has been included in the Pakistan squad in place of Saim for the Champions Trophy.  

South Africa fast bowler Anrich Nortje has been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 due to a back injury. So far, South Africa have not named Nortje’s replacement but young Kwena Maphaka is the likeliest option to replace him.  

Another South Africa pacer Gerald Coetzee has also been ruled out of the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with a groin tightness and hamstring injury. Corbin Bosch and Lutho Sipamla are the frontrunners to replace Coetzee in South Africa squad for Champions Trophy.
