From Rs 40 Lakh Cash To 89 Laptops: Passengers Leave Behind Huge Assets In Delhi Metro In 2024
In 2024, the CISF secured Delhi Metro's 250+ stations and assisted passengers by recovering lost valuables worth Rs 40.74 lakh, helping distressed individuals, and detecting weapons. They intervened in suicide attempts, supported vulnerable groups like children and women, and maintained security for lakhs of daily commuters in Delhi and adjoining cities.

In 2024. over Rs 40.74 lakh in cash, 89 laptops, 193 mobiles, 40 watches, nine 'mangalsutras,' silver ornaments, and 24,550 in foreign currency were left behind by passengers and restored by CISF after verification in Delhi metro.
CISF's Security Role
The CISF provides anti-terrorist security for Delhi Metro, which spans more than 250 stations and nearly 350 km of track.
Passenger Negligence
Many items were forgotten near X-ray baggage scanners in station areas.
Suicide Attempts
In 2024, 59 suicide attempts were recorded; 23 lives were lost, three individuals were saved, and 33 were injured.
Weapons Seised
The CISF detected 75 rounds of live ammunition and seven firearms during passenger and baggage security checks.
Support to Vulnerable Groups
The CISF helped 262 children traveling alone and assisted 671 women in distress, handing them over to parents, police, or child helpline volunteers.
CISF Deployment
