Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Status: The Highways and Expressways have been one of the key stories of the Narendra Modi government's development plank. Under Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has been working to connect major cities via Highways or Expressway, thus reducing travel time and bringing people and the cities closer. One such expressway nearing completion is Delhi-Dehradun Expressway. At present, it takes around 5-7 hours to reach Dehradun from Delhi. The expressway will cut the travel time drastically.

Divided into four segments, the expressway begins at the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway near Akshardham, passing through Shastri Park, Khajuri Khas, and the EPE interchange at Khekra in Mandola. Constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 12,000 crore, the six-lane expressway spans 213 km. It features a 12 km elevated wildlife corridor—Asia’s longest—passing through Rajaji National Park and the Shivalik Reserve forest. Authorities have announced that the entire Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is expected to be completed by March. Once finished, it will provide a high-speed, efficient route for thousands of daily travelers.
