Cricket is considered religion in india and if there's anyone in cricket whom the year 2016 can befittingly be named after, it is undoubtedly Virat Kohli.

Be it in test cricket, ODI's, T20 or IPL, Kohli has been a forerunner throughout and is even considered by some as the next Sachin Tendulkar.

The pride of Indian cricket has definitely given the game a 'Kohli makeover' and continues to slay his fans with his moves on the field.

Also known as one of the fittest cricketers in the world, the Delhi boy loves to maintain his physique in order to perform well. Just like cricket, his health game is completely on point too!

Below, we give you some fitness tips that Virat Kohli follows to treat you to a game of real cricket every time he's playing.

1. Diet:

Eat, but eat well, is his diet mantra. Kohli dosn't believe in the word 'diet'. In fact, he emphasises on eating whatever you want, but avoids eating out. He loves home-cooked food and tries eating at home as much as possible. After all, ghar ka khaana is the best!

2. Say no to junk food:

We know it's bad for health, but do seem to give in to temptation when we can't seem to resist. Virat Kohli, however, detests junk food. He maintains a healthy diet since junk food tends to make one sluggish.

3. Drinking water:

The amount of water we consume on a daily basis has a firm hold on our health. However, the kind of water we consume also matters. It should be pure and clean and that's why Virat Kohli has made it a point to drink only mineral water. He's never seen without it.

4. Gym:

Working out is an essential part of any athelete's fitness regime. Sweating it out in the gym is a routine that Virat Kohli has subjected himself to for five days a week. He makes it a point to be strict about it and goes to the gym religiously. His passion for cricket shows and so does his passion for fitness.

5. Cardio and weights combo:

His core muscles are the main point of focus for Virat Kohli and therefore, he likes to mix cardio and weight training during his workout sessions. It helps strenghthen the muscles and also tone up.
