Gujarat board: Class 12 Science student wrote about sexual fantasies in Chemistry exam answer sheet

Ahmedabad: In a shocking incident, one Class XII science student from Borsad at Anand district in Gujarat penned down his sexual fantasies about his sister-in-law, a film actress and his cook in his chemistry answer paper.

As per a report in The Times of India, the lady teacher, who was checking his answer paper, got the shock of her life when she read the pornographic material. She reported the matter to the co-ordinator of the assessment centre.

The daily added that since the board has a provision to penalise students who write expletives in answer sheets, a cheating case was lodged against the student.

He was summoned to appear before the examination reforms committee but he did not turn up.

"The board has decided to cancel his result and bar him from taking the board exams for one year," the daily quoted AJ Shah, the chairman of Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB), as saying.

"The boy apparently suffers from a perverted psyche which needs to be corrected. We have decided to call his parents and show them his mark sheet so that they can take some remedial steps," said Shah.

Girls had outperformed boys in Class XII (general stream) Gujarat Board examination, the results of which were declared on May 30, 2017.

The passing percentage of girls was 70.88 as against 47.28 of boys. The total pass percentage stood at 56.82.

The result of the Class X11 (general stream) exam were announced on the GSHSEB website.

Among districts, Surat recorded the highest pass percentage at 73.85. Chhota Udepur district reported the least number of students passing at 30.81 percent.
