PANAJI: Goa BJP General Secretary Narendra Sawaikar on Wednesday denied all rumours about Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar's health and said that he is responding well to the treatment. Calling Parrikar's condition stable, he said that the doctors are constantly monitoring his health.

"Condition of Manohar Parrikar is stable and is improving. The doctors are constantly monitoring his health. He is positively responding to the treatment," the BJP leader told ANI.

On Monday, Sawaikar had claimed that the reports of SM Parrikar to be flown to the USA for treatment as false and baseless.

In addition, he had clarified that the Chief Minister is responding to the treatment. Sawaikar had further added that Parrikar is being treated by best of experts and as per information, his condition is stable.

"CM Manohar Parrikar is undergoing treatment at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital and is responding to it. He is being treated by best of experts and as per information, his condition is stable. News that he is being flown to the USA for treatment is false and baseless," Narendra Sawaikar had said.

Earlier on Monday, Deputy Speaker and BJP MLA Michael Lobo had said that Parrikar could be shifted to the US for further treatment, 'if need be'.

"We want him. We will do everything we can. He could be taken to the US if need be," Lobo had said at the state Assembly complex.

On Sunday, Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital had issued a statement in which it termed all reports about the Goa Chief Minister as 'misleading and malicious'.

''It has been brought to our notice, various malicious and misleading reports/rumours are floating around in the electronic/print media with regard to the health of Hon Chief Minister of Goa. We categorically deny all such rumours,'' the hospital had said in the statement.

The hospital had further reiterated that the BJP leader is currently being treated and was responding well to the treatment.

The statement was signed by Ajay Kumar Pande, Vice President, Lilavati Hospital And Research Centre.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was in Mumbai to inaugurate 'Magnetic Maharashtra' Global Investors Summit in suburban Bandra, had also visited the Lilavati Hospital to enquire about Parrikar's health.

Parrikar was admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on February 15 reportedly after his health deteriorated.

Parrikar's office had also issued a statement on Saturday stating that the Goa Chief Minister will be attending the Assembly Session.
