New Delhi: Over the last few years, as cricket has revolutionised, we have seen several batsmen come up with plenty of unorthodox strokes. Especially in T20 cricket, with limited time, the batsmen need new tricks up their sleeves to bamboozle the opponents.

T20 being the smallest version of cricket, where a batsman is expected to start hitting boundaries from the word go, cricketers have developed a few cheeky shots to keep bowlers at bay.

Former Sri Lankan cricketer Tillakaratne Dilshan is also known for inventing one of such strokes - the "Dilscoop". It is also known as the "ramp shot".

According to Dilshan, he started practicing this stroke against a bowling machine during his tenure for Delhi Daredevils in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2009 which was held in South Africa between April-May 2009.

The shot proved to be a masterstroke, as when executed to perfection, it produces a certain boundary as there are no fielders behind the wicket-keeper.

Having said that, a batsman needs a lot of courage to even attempt the stroke, as to unleash it for maximum runs, a batsman needs to put his head in line of the ball.

Here's a glimpse, where Dilshan himself teaches the cricket lovers how to play the Dilscoop.
