There are three main tests to differentiate between a fake egg and a real egg. These tests include water test, shell colour, shell texture and shape.
Real Egg: The colour shades range from white to brown and the colour is not uniform throughout and has natural colour variations.
Fake Egg: It is a tad bit shinier than real eggs and has a certain extent of colour uniformity, the difference is quite subtle but if you look close enough, you’ll know.
Real Egg: Its shell is slightly rough and has quite visible pores. Each of the real eggs are uniquely shaped although they are generally oval.
Fake Egg: It has a rougher texture than a real egg and might even lack visible pores.Fake eggs are more uniformly shaped and may lack variation.
Real Egg: If the egg is real, then after it is submerged in water, it will sink and lie almost horizontally at the bottom of the container.
Fake Egg: If the egg is fake, then after it is submerged in water, it may float or even stand almost upright in water.
