Matar (green pea) stuffed paratha is perfect for breakfast or a wholesome meal. This winter-special dish is filled with a spicy and flavorful green pea stuffing that pairs wonderfully with butter, curd, or pickle.

To make the dough, mix 2 cups of whole wheat flour, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1 teaspoon oil. Gradually add water and knead it into a soft, pliable dough. Let it rest for 20 minutes to ensure smooth rolling and better texture.

For the stuffing, mash 1 cup of boiled green peas and mix it with finely chopped green chilies, grated ginger, cumin seeds, garam masala, amchur powder, salt, and fresh coriander leaves. This mixture gives the paratha its rich and spicy taste.

Divide the dough into equal portions and roll each into a small disc. Place a spoonful of the stuffing in the center, seal the edges carefully, and gently roll it out into a round paratha without breaking the filling.

Heat a tawa (griddle) and cook the paratha on medium heat. Flip when one side turns golden brown and apply ghee or butter on both sides for a crispy yet soft texture. Cook until both sides have a delicious golden hue.

Serve the hot matar stuffed paratha with fresh yogurt, spicy pickle, or a generous dollop of butter. This comforting dish is a great way to enjoy the flavors of winter in a warm and satisfying meal.

For the best results, ensure the stuffing is dry to prevent breakage while rolling. Use fresh green peas for a naturally sweet flavor and adjust the spices to suit your taste preferences.
