YouTube is back up now, y'all!

Youtube, the Google-owned video service, suffered an unprecedented worldwide outage on Wednesday for more than an hour. Thousands took to social media to report about the error messages received or video streaming issues. Users also reported being unable to use YouTube TV and YouTube Music.

Later, after the website was restored, Youtube posted a message on their Twitter handle: "We're back! Thanks for all of your patience. If you continue to experience issues, please let us know"

Earlier, the team had tweeted, "Thanks for your reports about YouTube, YouTube TV and YouTube Music access issues. We're working on resolving this and will let you know once fixed. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will keep you updated."

According to reports, the video streaming platform went offline at around 6:30 am Indian Standard Time (IST) on Wednesday morning.

While some reported seeing 'Error 500', others claimed that the site wouldn't load.

Serious downtime for YouTube, lasting well over 60 minutes, is pretty rare.

Last month, Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram crashed in several places across the world, with parts of North America, Europe and northern Africa being affected by the leaks.
