New Delhi: Indian seamer Ashish Nehra has made a terrific comeback into international cricket after a gap of almost five years.
Nehra has suddenly instilled a new lease of life in India's bowling attack.
Former Indian opener and old friend of Nehra, Virender Sehwag is also overjoyed with the performance of the lanky pacer.
"I am very happy for Nehra. He was the best bowler in the IPL. They picked him and gave him chances in T20Is because he deserves that. And (Jasprit) Bumrah was doing well in IPL as well as in domestic matches also,” Sehwag told Cricbuzz.
Sehwag, who has recently bid adieu to international cricket, even rated Nehra a better bowler than Zaheer Khan in the limited-overs cricket.
"I rate him higher than Zaheer Khan in ODIs and T20s. Because of the kind of pace he generates, the kind of line and length he can bowl, the yorkers he can bowl.
"I think Nehra as an ODI and T20 bowler has been very good. He did well in the 2011 World Cup and before that. In 2011 World Cup he got injured and he didn't play after and I don't know why and what the reason was,” said Viru.
Indian new-ball pair of Nehra and Bumrah is paying rich dividends for Team India. And at times, both the bowlers look unplayable in death overs, which gives India an edge over other teams.
