Vyapam scam: Several names were deleted from siezed documents to save guilty, says Digvijay Singh

Bhopal: Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh on Friday alleged that the original documents seized by Special Task Force (STF) in connection to Vyapam scam were tampered with to save culprits.

Speaking to media at the CBI office in Bhopal, Singh said that several names were deleted from the files and fresh names were added in the documents seized by the STF, Pradesh18 report quoted him as saying.

“State government focused on those who had paid money for getting recruited or enrolling into medical courses, whereas the middlemen and those who received money should have been penalised,” he said.

“Documents submitted by me pointed fingers against those spared in the probe but the state government is refusing to accept them, Singh said, adding that all the documents submitted by him to investigators were verified by the Centre’s Forensic Science Laboratory.

Singh was quizzed by CBI officers probing the scam for three hours in the afternoon.
