PM Narendra Modi's MA degree - He scored lowest in 'International Relations'

New Delhi: It may be hard to digest, but it's true, Prime Minister Narendra Modi scored the lowest in `International Relations' during his Master of Arts programme.

Interestingly, while since Modi, who had scored low in international relations during his MA programme, he has aggressively moved forward to strengthen India's ties with foreign countries ever since he took over as the Prime Minister.

As per reports, PM Modi scored 48 marks in `International Relations' and 60 and above in the remaining subjects while pursuing his MA from the Gujarat University.

Acting Vice Chancellor of Gujarat University Mahesh Patel said, “Modi obtained 237 marks out of 400 in MA Part I and 262 marks out of 400 in MA Part II.”

“He received 499 out of 800, or 62.3 percent marks in his MA,” the VC said.

Modi took admission in GU in 1981 as an external candidate for Political Science course and he passed in 1983 with first class, he said.

Modi enrolled as a BA (Pass) student with the College of Correspondence Courses of Delhi University in 1975.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday made public Prime Minister's BA and MA degrees and accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of lying over the issue.

Amid claims by AAP that PM Modi's degrees and marksheets had "glaring discrepancies", the Gujarat University said he had "slightly changed" his name, dropping 'kumar' from it.

The University said Modi changed his name from "Narendrakumar Damodardas Modi," which he used in admission form for MA Part I, to "Narendra Damodardas Modi" in MA Part II but everything is "genuine".
