Inky the Octopus escapes aquarium; finds freedom in ocean!

New Zealand: What is eight-legged, inky blue in colour and has managed to escape New Zealand's National Aquarium? For those who got it, good for you and for those who didn't, it's Inky the Octopus!

Yes, the marine animal who was a resident of the National Aquarium of New Zealand since 2014, has managed to break out, following an interesting escape route.

As per The Daily Beast, Inky reportedly slipped out of his tank and crawled his way over to a drain pipe through which he escaped into the ocean.

How did the aquarium staff get to know about it? The telltale suction cup prints, of course! Inky's 'footprints' could be seen leaving his tank as he made his way across the floor to a six-inch-wide drain.

Since, Octopus's bodies are malleable, he could squeeze himself in the drain and escape.
