No question of hike in electricity bill, clarifies Delhi govt

New Delhi: Delhi Government on Thursday clarified that there will be no hike in the electricity bill, adding that it may further reduce the bill after the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) report is out.

"I am very much sure that the electricity bill will be further reduced after the CAG report. There is no question of raising the electricity bill," Delhi Health Minister Satyendra Jain told ANI here.

In June, Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) had hiked power tariff in the national capital by up to six per cent as it restored a surcharge to compensate the private electricity distribution companies for rise in power purchase cost.
