THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: National Commission for Women acting chairperson Rekha Sharma on Monday met Hadiya, the Hindu woman from Kerala who converted to Islam after marrying a Muslim man.

Following the meeting with Hadiya, Sharma said, "She is in good health and happy. Her security is under no threat."

Hadiya Shefin, a 25-year-old homeopathic doctor had converted to Islam last year after her marriage with Shafin Jahan.

Sharma also showed photographs of Hadiya captured in her cellphone during the meeting.

Last week, Kottayam Superintendent of Police submitted a report to Kerala Women’s Commission stating that Hadiya was guarded by police and there was no physical torture from her father's side.

On October 30, the Supreme Court had observed that the concent of the girl is prime in Kerala love jihad case. The apex court had also directed Hadiya's father to produce her before it on November 27.
