Limbayat Assembly Election Results Highlights 2022: BJP candidate and sitting MLA Sangita Patil has retained the Limbayat seat for the third time in a row. She defeated Congress and AAP candidates to keep the seat. Sangita Patil polled 94501 votes while Congress party's Gopal Patil got 29357 votes. Aam Aadmi Party candidate Pankajbhai Tayade received 37431 votes. BJP bagged the seat by a marging of 57070 votes. The final tally will be available once the EC reelease round-wise data. The counting of votes for the 182 seats of Gujarat Assembly Elections 2022 is inching towards conclusion. Limbayat seat voted on December 1 in the first phase. The BJP had managed to bag the Limbayat seat in 2012 and 2017.
BJP is all set to win 157 seats out of the total 182 seats in Gujarat. The party has broken Congress party's record of winning 149 seats in 1985. Exit polls have already predicted that the BJP will comfortably win a seventh straight term in Gujarat -- an outcome that now equals the Left Front's feat in West Bengal. The BJP's win in Gujarat comes as a huge morale boost for the party. It also enthuse BJP's rank and file, and reinforce the impression that the party will win the 2024 Lok Sabha elections. For the Congress, its time to redraw its strategy for the state and upcoming polls. For the AAP, which carried out a high-decibel campaign, the Gujarat results will still be booster shot as it bagged over 12 per cent votes and around four seats.
