Delhi Elections 2025 Live Updates: Delhi is set to go to polls on February 5 and counting of votes will take place on February 8. In the upcoming polls, the national capital is set to witness  a three-cornered battle. AAP is seeking a third consecutive term in office while the BJP is attempting to regain power in the national capital for the first time since 1998.

AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal will visit the Election Commission office here on Friday to furnish his reply to the poll body over its notice to him on his "poison mixed" in Yamuna water remark.

Kejriwal, who will be accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and his Punjab counterpart Bhagwant Mann, will visit the EC office at 11 am, the party said.

Kejriwal on Thursday accused the EC and its chief election commissioner of indulging in politics over his statement and claimed that Yamuna water supplied from Haryana to Delhi has high levels of ammonia content.

The EC served him two notices seeking reply over his allegation that the BJP government mixed "poison" in Yamuna water for Delhi attempting a "genocide" in the city.

Kejriwal, who is contesting the Delhi polls from the New Delhi seat, was asked to share details of engineers, location and methodology of detecting the "poison" by Delhi Jal Board staff by Friday 11 am, failing which the Commission will be free to take appropriate decisions in the matter.

Delhi Assembly Polls 2025 LIVE: Kejriwal Has 'Good News' For People In Capital Amid Yamuna 'Poisoning'

Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party's National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal says, "... I want to give this good news to the people of Delhi that your struggle has borne fruit. On January 15, the quantity of ammonia was 3.2 PPM, and gradually it was increased to 7 PPM. When I and the people of Delhi raised our voices, it came down from 7 to 2.1 PPM... If we had not raised the issue, had we not struggled, then today 1 crore people of Delhi would not have gotten water... This was a conspiracy to defame us."

Delhi Elections 2025 LIVE: Kejriwal Visits EC, Alleges Bias, Says 'Saved Delhi From Water Crisis'

Arvind Kejriwal, the AAP convenor, visted the Election Commission on Friday and claimed that if AAP had not protested, one crore Delhi residents would have been deprived of water. He alleged bias, stating that instead of acting against Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Saini, ECI is targeting him.

"If we had not protested and raised a hue and cry, one crore people of Delhi would have stopped getting water... ECI has sent me a notice asking why no action is taken. I saved Delhi from water crisis and I am being threatened with punishment... Instead of filing an FIR and taking action against Nayab Saini, Election Commission is after me...Neighbouring states of election states can influence elections by stopping water... Money, sarees, shoes and jackets are being openly distributed in Delhi but Election Commission is silent. ECI does not show the courage to take action against BJP today," he said.

He further said "Whatever punishment is given to me, I will accept it. We have not taken time from Election Commission, if we meet them then it is fine otherwise we will come to the gate and give our answer and water bottle to the three commissioners."

AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal claimed that the rising ammonia levels in Delhi's water were part of a political conspiracy aimed at disrupting the city's water supply. He further stated that the Haryana government's response was a politically motivated move.

"CM Atishi called Haryana CM Nayab Singh Saini to complain about the rising ammonia levels in water. She asked to either reduce the ammonia levels or release extra water to dilute the ammonia levels. He agreed to the demands but did not take action. This happened thrice and after that, he stopped taking Atishi's calls... Even Bhagwant Mann tried talking to Haryana CM to which he was given assurances but in vain... One by one, Delhi's water treatment plants started shutting down. Delhi's Chief Secretary also talked to Haryana Chief Secretary in this matter urging him to take action. Haryana's Chief Secretary said something very shocking. He said this decision has been taken at the top level and he suggested that Delhi CM talk to Haryana CM. This is when we realised this is a political conspiracy to influence elections... "

Kejriwal further addressed the water contamination issue, claiming it was part of a political conspiracy aimed at creating water scarcity in Delhi. He revealed that after 15 January, ammonia levels in the water rose dramatically before gradually decreasing, attributing the reduction to the success of their agitation.

Delhi Elections 2025 Live: AAP Slams 'Raid' At Punjab CM Residence, EC Official Claims Rooms Locked

A high drama unfolded outside Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann's residence in Delhi on Thursday as EC officials tried to conduct a search of the premises following allegation that money was being distributed from the property ahead of the February 5 assembly polls.

Mann, who has been campaigning for AAP in Delhi, hit back at the Election Commission (EC) and the Delhi Police, accusing them of trying to "defame Punjabis" at the behest of the BJP.

AAP leaders, including party supremo Arvind Kejriwal and Delhi Chief Minister Atishi, doubled down to defend Mann and accused the poll authority of turning a blind eye to the BJP "openly" distributing money. After more than two hours, the EC team, accompanied by Delhi Police personnel, returned empty-handed.

Delhi Assembly Polls 2025 Live: Congress, AAP Now Exposing Each Other's Corruption, Says BJP

Senior BJP leader Sudhanshu Trivedi on Thursday claimed that the Congress and AAP, which had given clean chits to each other six months ago, were now "exposing" the other's corruption.

Congress MP Rahul Gandhi issued a statement regarding the alleged liquor scam in Delhi, calling it "open corruption" and that AAP supremo Arvind Kejriwal is corrupt, Trivedi said at a press conference. "He (Kejriwal) is issuing certificates of honesty to himself even after that," he added.

Trivedi said the AAP supremo, on the other hand, alleged that the Congress was involved in the National Herald case. "Both these scams are unique in Indian politics. In the liquor scam, you have never seen a government form a policy only to later take it back. After withdrawing the policy, it (AAP government) said the policy was good and defended it in the media," he added.

The National Herald case is important in the way a party scammed its own institute, the BJP MP alleged. He added that the BJP had nothing to do with the two cases -- the National Herald case was started in October 2013 when the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government was at the Centre while the first allegation regarding the liquor scam was also levelled by the grand old party.

It is clear how tainted the true character of the so-called staunchly honest party is, as revealed by its former partner, Trivedi said. AAP and the Congress are constituents of the opposition INDIA bloc, formed ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The two parties had contested the general elections in an alliance in Delhi.

Trivedi noted that Kejriwal had made venomous statements about Haryana, which had been proven politically and constitutionally incorrect. After the Election Commission's questioning, even Kejriwal's apology would be insufficient, he added.

"One thing is clear in front of the people of Delhi… Both these parties lie. They were giving clean chits to each other six months ago and now (they are) exposing each other's corruption. It means the Congress was lying on the National Herald case and AAP was lying on the liquor scam," he claimed.

Trivedi alleged that the Centre gave Rs 8,500 crore to clean the Yamuna but, instead of cleaning the Yamuna, AAP is accused of polluting it.

The BJP's Delhi president Virendra Sachdeva said people of the national capital had fully understood that these parties were two sides of the same corrupt coin and it wouldn't be surprising if they embraced each other on the eve of the elections.

Sachdeva alleged that the people of Delhi knew that AAP and the Congress looted Delhi during the past 26 years. "Therefore, I urge the citizens to now extend their support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a double-engine government is about to come to Delhi," he added.

Delhi Elections 2025 Live: AAP MLAs Were In Touch With Sena But Not Fielded To Avoid Vote Split, Says Shinde

Sitting Aam Aadmi Party MLAs were in touch with Shiv Sena for the Delhi polls but they were not fielded in order to avoid division of votes since the party has announced support to the BJP, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde said on Thursday. Shinde said he will soon travel to the national capital to canvas support for the BJP candidates.

"Sitting MLAs of the Aam Aadmi Party had contacted us but we are in alliance with the BJP. We two parties (the BJP and Shiv Sena) are like-minded. So to avoid division of votes which would have benefitted rivals, we did not field candidates. We have fully supported the BJP in Delhi," Shinde told reporters here.

The Shiv Sena has three MLAs in Rajasthan and the party intends to expand its base to other states, Shinde added. Delhi goes to polls on February 5, while votes will be counted on February 8.

Delhi Vidhan Sabha Chunav 2025 Live: Kejriwal, Atishi And Bhagwant Mann To Meet EC Today As Yamuna Water Row Intensifies

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal, accompanied by Delhi Chief Minister Atishi and Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, will visit the Election Commission of India (ECI) today over River Yamuna water row.

This comes after the ECI issued a notice to Kejriwal, asking him to provide proof of his allegations that the Haryana government has "poisoned" the water supply to the national capital. The controversy surrounding the Yamuna water has become a central issue in Delhi politics, with Kejriwal accusing the BJP-ruled Haryana government of intentionally contaminating the water. The ECI has asked Kejriwal to provide factual evidence to support his claims by 11 am today.

Earlier on Thursday, the Election Commission had responded to AAP Chief Arvind Kejriwal to not mix issues of increased ammonia in the Yamuna River with his serious allegations of Yamuna poisoning with mass genocide, equating it to an act of war between two nations.
