Shocking: Pregnant woman jumps to death to save herself from rapists

HYDERABAD: In a shocking incident, a seven-month-old pregnant lady jumped to death to save herself from rapists in Telangana on Saturday night.

The incident took place on National Highway 44 near Ravelli village in Medak district.

Thirty-five-year-old Kalavathi would sell old clothes and dresses. She was travelling with her young daughter from Medchal village to Toopran village in Medak.

The mother-daughter duo got into a DCM van, which was already boarded by two unidentified men. On way the way, the men started harassing and tried to rape her.

To save herself, Kalavathi jumped from the mobile van and died on spot. 

The van driver allegedly dropped the woman's daughter by the roadside and fled. 

Passers-by informed the police, who in turn registered a case based on the description given by the minor child. 

The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
