With a modest target of 237 to chase on a good batting wicket, New Zealand will fancy their chances. Bangladesh began positively, reaching 58/1 in the first 10 overs. However, Michael Bracewell’s exceptional spell turned the tide, as he claimed 4 wickets for just 26 runs in his 10 overs. Skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto fought hard with a resilient 77, but he lacked support from the other end. Jaker Ali’s late cameo of 41 runs helped Bangladesh avoid a complete collapse, ensuring they at least crossed the 200-run mark, which looked unlikely at one stage.

Bangladesh produced a disappointing batting performance, managing only 236/9 in their 50 overs on a batting-friendly track at Rawalpindi. Given the conditions, this total appears well below par, and credit goes to New Zealand’s bowlers for their disciplined approach, delivering over 175 dot balls to stifle the hosts.
