Kolkata: Calling Kaushik Ganguly her mentor, actor Raima Sen says the IFFI-award winning Bengali director is "the best among the present lot".

"I had been part of Kaushikda's four films. He has been my guide. He is my mentor and he is the best," Raima told PTI on the eve of the release of Bastushaap, Kaushik's last film after IFFI-Unesco Felini award winning 'Cinemawala'.

The 36-year-old actor, whose Hindi movie "Bollywood Diaries" is awaiting release next month, said she was happy to do back-to-back Bengali films with directors like Ganguly.

Raima, had been part of Kaushik's "Arekti Premer" "Galpo", "Shabd"', "C/O Sir" and now "Bastushaap", all having been critically praised.

"In 'Bastushaap' I share screen with Churni Ganguly (Kaushik's wife), who plays my sister-in-law in the film, and the film seeks to portray how much isolated we all are living in our very own worlds under the same roof. I had also been part of Churnidi-directed 'Nirbasito' (inspired by Taslima Nasreen's life, so my association with the Ganguly-duo runs deep within. I feel at ease with them," the "Parineeta" actor said.

Recalling how Abir Chatterjee and Parambrata Chatterjee used to play pranks on her on the sets of "Bastushaap," Raima said, "Me and Abir have acted in six films together. And we can set the house on fire with our madness. But here Param and Abir, the two boys, left me out as a girl and made me mad."
