Comedian Kiku Sharda released on bail: report

New Delhi: Actor Kiku Sharda who got arrested on Wednesday following the mimicking of Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh on a comedy show, has been released on bail bond of Rs 1 lakh, according to sources.

Kiku Sharda is well known for his performance as 'Palak' in popular show 'Comedy Nights with Kapil'. The actor and comedian landed himself in trouble after doing a performance which mimicked the Dera Sacha Sauda in the December 27, 2015 episode of the show.

Even after his custody, many political figures and Bollywood celebrities expressed their support for the actor. The actor himself was quick enough to furnish an apology saying that it was not his intention to hurt the sentiments of anyone.
