New Delhi: Attention readers! We are proud to inform you that Indian-American author Akhil Sharma has won the International Dublin Literary Award. And, along with this, he also took home the prize money, €100,000, for his autobiographical novel 'Family Life'.

Reportedly, Sharma left behind 150 other contestants from 43 countries to bag the world's largest prize money for any single published English novel. Well, that is a huge achievement.

"To be acknowledged by people I respect is a strange thing. I can't say I fooled them. I feel abashed by this honour," he was quoted as saying by BBC.

Ian Sansom, Juan Pablo Villalobos and Carlo Gébler are some of the names who were among the panel of judges.
