Pakistan's leg-spinner Yasir Shah on Thursday became the quickest bowler to pick 200 wickets in Test cricket, shattering an 82-year-old record on the fourth day of the Third Test against New Zealand in Abu Dhabi.
Shah dismissed Will Somerville to achieve the record in his 33rd Test, beating Australian leg-spinner Charrie Grimmett who achieved the same tally in 36 Tests against South Africa in 1936.

The leg-spinner has become the seventh Pakistan based bowler to achieve the feat. However, he is the ninth leg-spinner amongst players from all nations to register this tally.
Not only this, Shah also fended off competition from the likes of Ravichandran Ashwin and Dennis Lillee who achieved the same tally in 37 and 38 Tests respectively.
The 32-year-old further enjoys the unique distinction of registering the second best match figures in a Test for Pakistan. Shah's figures of 14 for 184 trail none other than legendary cricketer Imran Khan, who had registered a tally of 14 for 116 against Sri Lanka.
Shah began the Abu Dhabi clash with a tally of 195 wickets in 32 Tests, and went on to achieve the landmark in the second innings.
