New Delhi: Time and again Virat Kohli has proved why he's being considered as one of the most versatile player in the cricketing world. With the end of each cricket series he comes up with a stock of records, some he broke and others he made.

Kohli, 28, doesn't confine himself to only one format of the game, instead he has made himself flexible for all formats. In Test cricket he has become one of the most reliable names, that any squad can bank upon.

With just 52 Tests under his belt, Kohli he has scored above 4,000 runs, at an average of 50.53 with 15 hundreds.

In one-day Internationals he has earned himself the tag of a 'match winner', by pulling India from many tough situations and making sure that till the time he's on the ground India is not going to loose a match.

In ODIs, Kohli has played 176 matches and scored above 7500 runs at an average of 52.93, smashing 26 Hundreds and 38 fifties, with top score of 183 runs.

He also won ICC's ODI player of the year award in 2012.

Talking about T20's, which is considered as formats for pinch-hitter's only, Kohli has defied that thinking too by proving that if one has the aggression and hunger for runs, runs can also be scored from proper cricketing shots.

Kohli has scored overall 739 runs with 3 hundreds and 3 fifties. With highest score of 154 runs.

India tour of Australia: Virat played 5 matches, scored 381runs, at an average of 76.20, with 2 hundreds, and 2 fifties. His best score came in Melbourne where he scored 117 runs.

New Zealand tour of India: Virat played 5 matches, scored 358 runs at an average of 119.33, with 2 fifties and 1 hundred. His best score came at Mohali where he scored 154 runs.

T20 Internationals:

Kohli played 15 T20 international matches including the World T20 series, Asia cup T20 series, and three match series in Australia and one match with West Indies in USA. Scoring 641 runs overall with 7 fifties and highest score of 90 not out.

Aus vs India T20: He played 3 matches and scored 199 runs at an average of 199.00 with 3 fifties. With best score of 90 runs not out.

Asia cup T20 series: He played 5 matches and scored 153 runs at an average of 76.50, with 1 fifty, and best score of 56 not out.

ICC's T20 World Cup: he played 5 matches scoring 273 runs at an average of 136.50 with 3 fifties, and highest individual score of 89 runs not out.

IPL 2016:

Virat Kohli, who plays for Royal Challengers Banglore, played a total of 16 matches in the tournament, where he scored 973 runs, at a strike rate of 152.03 with an average of 81.08, hitting 4 hundreds and 7 fifties. With best score of 113 runs.

This is the highest overall score for an individual in one season, no other batsman has scored that much runs in one season. Sunrisers Hyderabad's David Warner is on the second spot where with 848 runs.

He also became the first player to reach the 4000-run milestone in the IPL.

Tests:

Kohli Played 11 Test matches so far with one more Test to go at Chennai. He has scored 1112 overall runs with 4 hundreds, and 2 fifties, and with that, he has achieved the feat of equaling the record feats achieved by Sachin Tendulkar and Rahul Dravid – that of an Indian captain scoring thousand runs in a calendar year. Tendulkar scored 1000 runs in 1997 and Dravid scored 1095 runs in 2006.

Not only that, Kohli has scored three 200's in 2016, the first of which came up against west Indies where he scored 200 runs, second one comes against New Zealand where he scored 211 runs, and most recent one come up against England where he scored his career best of 235 runs.

India tour of West Indies: He played 4 matches scored 251 runs at an average of 62.75 hitting one hundred, with best individual score of 200 runs in the first Test at North Sound.

New Zealand tour of India: He played 3 Test Matches and scored an overall 309 runs at an average of 51.50, scoring one hundred, with best individual score of 211 runs at Indore.

England Tour of India: Kohli has played 4 Test, where he scored total of 552 runs at an average of 138.00 with 2 hundreds and 2 fifties, hitting his career best of 235 runs. With one more test to go at Chennai from 16 December.

In third test against England he became the only other Indian captain other than Gavaskar to score 500-plus runs. For the record, Gavaskar did it twice — first 732 runs at 91.50 against West Indies in 1978-79 and second 500 at 62.50 against England in 1981-82.
