Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina orders authorities to build new house for teenage spin sensation Mehedi Hasan Miraz

New Delhi: All these while, Bangladesh's national toast Mehedi Hasan Miraz was living an impoverished life. But after his sensational debut series, the 19-year-old bowler will have at least a decent house.

According to reports in Bangladesh media, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has ordered the deputy commissioner of Khulna to find land and get a house built for the cricketer.

It's believed that the premier's directive comes on the back of media reports which highlighted Miraz's struggle against poverty.

The young offspinner helped Bangladesh to a historic win over England with a 12-wicket haul in the second Test last week. Miraz, who was playing only the second Test of of his career toyed with the visitors, as Bangladesh fulfilled their dream, after narrowly missing out on the first Test.

In his debut match, Miraz took seven wickets, which included a 6 for 80 in the first innings. But the team fell short by 22 runs. In the match, he bowled record breaking 33 overs, for a debutant.

Miraz picked up the Man of the Match as well as the Man of the Series award for his 19 wickets in the two-match series. He also claimed the record for taking the most wickets in a debut series, breaking JJ Ferris's 130-year-old record.

Before breaking into the national team, he had captained Bangladesh's Under 15, 17 and 19 teams.

But the prodigious cricketer have had a different story to present when it comes to hi family life. He and his family live in a two-room tin-shed house in Khulna's Khalishpur. And it's reported that the alley to the house is too narrow for even rickshaws to enter.

“Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is building a house for cricketer Mehedi Hasan Miraz. Principal Secretary Abul Kalam Azad has already conveyed her instructions to the deputy commissioner of Khulna. The district administration will find a suitable place for the house,” said Hasina’s Deputy Press Secretary Ashraful Alam to Bdnews24.com.
