In what looked like an unusual way to celebrate womanhood, a group of exiled Iranian women stripped nude for a video to fight for equal rights.

New Delhi: In what looked like an unusual way to celebrate womanhood, a group of exiled Iranian women stripped nude for a video to fight for equal rights.
The women who posed naked had certain messages to deliver on the occasion of International Women’s day, on March 8. The video was shot with an intention to up the sales of a calendar called Nude Photo Revolutionary released on the day, specifically dedicated to woman power. The video that shows nude women delivering their messages, carried captions that read, “‘I believe in the equality of men and women’, ‘My nudity is no stoning to death’, ‘My thoughts, my body, my choice’, ‘My nudity is ‘no’ to political Islam.’” The calendar is dedicated to Aliaa Magda Elmahdy, a 21 year old university student who had posted a nude pic of hers on her blog to make a noise against sexual discrimination in Islam that subsequently invoked extreme outrage. The video was also produced to show solidarity with Golshifteh Farahani, an Iranian model who had posed nude for French magazine Madame Le Figaro’ in protest against the ultra-conservative cultural policies in her country. The actress was banned from returning to her homeland after appearing naked in a photo shoot. Golshifteh had starred opposite with Leonardo DiCaprio in ‘Body of Lies’.
